چکیده

The present study investigated the effects of valerian methanolic extract and valerenic acid on expression LL-37 gene protein in A549 MRC5 line cells. After preparing Valerian seeds, sowing them March 2020, harvesting rhizome October was prepared from by maceration method. content determined using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Two cell lines (A549 MRC-5) were used to extract, MTT test evaluate viability. mRNA assessed Real-Time PCR western blot, respectively. In vivo safety assessments histopathological analysis also conducted. Data analyzed Graphpad Prism 8 software. upregulated both treated lines. Valerenic showed a greater effect upregulating than extract. cells more sensitive compared cells, its viability reduced. Furthermore, liver kidney-related that had no toxic effects. general, it concluded as well resulting most important component has ability upregulate LL-37expression. Therefore, can be considered for improving immune system.

Human host defense peptide LL-37 prevents bacterial biofilm formation.

The ability to form biofilms is a critical factor in chronic infections by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and has made this bacterium a model organism with respect to biofilm formation. This study describes a new, previously unrecognized role for the human cationic host defense peptide LL-37. In addition to its key role in modulating the innate immune response and weak antimicrobial activity, LL-37 pot...

Interaction and cellular localization of the human host defense peptide LL-37 with lung epithelial cells.

LL-37 is a human cationic host defense peptide that is an essential component of innate immunity. In addition to its modest antimicrobial activity, LL-37 affects the gene expression and behavior of effector cells involved in the innate immune response, although its mode of interaction with eukaryotic cells remains unclear. The interaction of LL-37 with epithelial cells was characterized in tiss...

The host defense peptide LL-37 selectively permeabilizes apoptotic leukocytes.

LL-37 is a cationic host defense peptide that is highly expressed during acute inflammation and that kills bacteria by poorly defined mechanisms, resulting in permeabilization of microbial membranes. High concentrations of LL-37 have also been reported to have cytotoxic effects against eukaryotic cells, but the peptide is clearly capable of differentiating between membranes with different compo...

Modulation of the TLR-mediated inflammatory response by the endogenous human host defense peptide LL-37.

The sole human cathelicidin peptide, LL-37, has been demonstrated to protect animals against endotoxemia/sepsis. Low, physiological concentrations of LL-37 (< or =1 microg/ml) were able to modulate inflammatory responses by inhibiting the release of the proinflammatory cytokine TNF-alpha in LPS-stimulated human monocytic cells. Microarray studies established a temporal transcriptional profile a...
